Fishing from the shore or heading out on the water
You can easily fish from piers, rocks, or the shore at many spots. Want to get out on the water? Rent a boat in Vrådal and cast your line in the lake. In summer, fish often go deeper to find cooler waters – a boat can make all the difference. Many of our holiday homes are right by the water, so great fishing is always nearby.
What can you catch?
The waters around Vrådal are rich in fish. You can catch several species, including:
- Trout (ørret): a delicacy with red flesh and flavor. Some trout weigh over 8 kg!
- Perch (abbor): firm and perfect for pan-frying.
- Char (røye): found mainly in colder waters.
- Whitefish (sik): excellent for smoking or grilling, a local favorite.
Trout is popular year-round, with the largest often caught in September as they prepare to spawn.
