We had already booked a cabin (Furuhus) with friends through Fjord Rentals three years ago and would do so again in a heartbeat. We would like to send a message to the owner of the house... We missed the following items in the kitchen, which could be purchased for little money... - A water jug/carafe - Tea strainer or teapot We also missed having somewhere to hang our clothes in the bedrooms. Three or four hooks per room would have been nice. We agree with other tenants who stated in their Google reviews that the blankets in the bedroom are too thin. We also had two nights that were very chilly. We also missed a little cosiness/personal touch (like Furuhus).”

10/10“Beautiful lodge - fully equipped - but far from Vradal. Beautiful nature, we enjoyed walking in the area. The view from the cottage is truly amazing. The large glass surfaces allow you to be in direct contact with the changing weather outside. Lots of light in the living room. Quiet: we were there at the end of June 2025 and the three nearby lodges were empty. Spring: no mosquitoes! Having breakfast on the terrace is impossible - there is no table. In the photos, you see a beautifully set table (misleading). Storoddevegen is a gravel road, which creates a lot of dust when a car drives by. It is very difficult to cook anything on the induction hob due to the safety features. It keeps switching off, even with the extractor fan on maximum and the hob on 4. Difficult to find – the GPS system does not recognise Storoddevegen (it is also a private road). Please provide the coordinates of the lodge. Air extraction in the toilet would be appreciated.”

10/10Our lodges are located in southern Norway, in the Telemark region. You can travel by car and ferry, or take a flight. Whichever option you choose, this part of southern Norway is easy to reach.
You drive through Germany and Denmark to Hirtshals. At the port, you board the ferry with your car — Fjord Line sails daily from Hirtshals to Kristiansand, a crossing of around two hours and twenty-five minutes by high-speed catamaran (a little longer on the regular ferry). From Kristiansand, it's about two and a half hours by car to Vrådal. One benefit of travelling this way: you'll have your own car in Norway.
Prefer to fly and rent a car locally? With KLM, you can fly direct from Amsterdam to Kristiansand in around one hour twenty-five minutes, then drive the scenic route to Vrådal in about two and a half hours. With Transavia, a direct flight from Eindhoven to Oslo takes around one hour fifty minutes; from Oslo Airport, it's about three and a half hours by rental car to the village of Vrådal.

Each one is individually owned, with its own character, but every one is held to the same standard — beautifully prepared, fully equipped, and ready before you arrive. Here's a closer look at what sets each setting apart, so you know what to look for when choosing yours.
Seasonal stays we'd take ourselves. Long summer weeks on Lake Nisser, quiet spring escapes when the birch first leafs, ski-season weekends with the sauna hot on arrival. We pick the ones worth timing — plus the last-minute openings most people miss.
All our lodges are in the Vrådal area of Telemark, southern Norway — around Lake Nisser and Vråvatn, about 3 hours south-west of Oslo.

Every lodge is fully equipped and prepared before you arrive — a stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, proper heating, and a clean, ready house.
